Janice received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Speech-Language Pathology from Florida State University. For the past 35 years she’s worked in a number of settings within her field. These include the Florida public school system, skilled nursing facilities, the L.L. Schendel Speech and Hearing Clinic, and her private practice. If you asked Janice what she likes the most about being a speech-language pathologist she’d quickly respond that she loves to practice her profession. First, and foremost, she loves working with individuals, family members and friends affected by communication disorders and differences. She takes the job of researching disorders and using evidence based practices seriously and works tirelessly to share information and model therapy approaches.Janice also enjoys mentoring. She’s supervised undergraduate and graduate students for over 30 years and enjoys learning from students as much as she enjoys teaching them. Janice completed the majority of her mentoring in public school settings as well as in the L.L. Schendel Speech and Hearing Clinic.
Janice retired from practicing speech-language pathology in the public school setting in December, 2014. She now provides private service in Tallahassee.
