Qualifications
Masters degree from an ALA-accredited program in library or information science.
Preferred

Evidence of excellent written and oral communication skills, analytical skills, and the ability to work with all levels of staff. Experience with outreach, advertising, and marketing of specialized services.

Schedule
Evening hours, Sunday through Thursday.
Responsibilities
Primary duties include providing in person and virtual reference services, circulation services, leadership as an evening librarian, and other duties as assigned.

University of South Florida St. Petersburg, Nelson Poynter Memorial Library-Business Reference/Distance Learning Librarian

Responsible to the Head of Public Services, the person in this position participates in developing, interpreting, and implementing policies and programs related to library instruction, the growth and acquisition of library collections, and access to information in all formats with an emphasis on business resources.  This position assists faculty members and other staff in research, curriculum, and instruction in academic program planning and participates in the provision of general and specialized reference services, provides bibliographic instruction via classroom teaching, tours, and the development of web or other subject guides. The person in this position will also serve as the library liaison to the USFSP College of Business and work closely with faculty and the Coordinator, Distance Learning & Instructional Media Services in support of a growing distance learning program.  The person in this position may serve on select campus committees directly related to the position’s primary areas of responsibility, i.e. distance learning and business.  This is a visiting faculty position with benefits.  The appointment is for one year with possible renewal for up to four years.

Duties
Reference.  Assists at reference desk (in person and collaborative chat).  Bibliographic Instruction and reference support.  This includes, but is not limited to:
•  Presents library tours, tutorials and class instruction as requested •  Participates in teaching LIS 2005, a three-credit research instruction course.
•  Prepares subject bibliographies, tip sheets, and pathfinders for electronic databases and other reference resources Collection Development.
•  Provides liaison function (specialized reference, collection development
and bibliographic instruction activities) for the College of Business.

•  Provides reference and instruction support to remote library users
•  Develops and maintains the library services to remote users web page

Minimum qualifications (Education and experience): Master’s degree from an ALA accredited institution in library science (must be in hand by January 2010). Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Demonstrates a strong commitment to customer service for a diverse clientele.  Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Desired qualifications: Pre- or post-professional experience working with business materials and faculty. Undergraduate or advanced degree in business administration.  Demonstrated familiarity with library and academic technology including course management software. 

Appointment: Rank (instructor or assistant) and salary commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Duties: This is a new position at Sanford Brown Institute needing an experienced Librarian to work on the ground floor in the development of a college level library.
-Operation of a college library including the collection development, acquisitions, AACR2 cataloging and circulation of materials.
-Academic Reference services to both Faculty and Students.
-Work in conjunction with Education team in the development of collection needs.

Children’s Librarian

Summary:  Trussville Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic, energetic, customer-service oriented Children’s Librarian to provide professional library services to a growing community.  The selected candidate will plan children’s programs and displays, provide reference services to students and teachers, promote library services and participate in the maintenance of our children’s collection.

Qualifications:  A Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited college or university is preferred; a Bachelor’s Degree required; three years of progressively responsible experience in children’s library services required.
