University Statements on recent events (Summer 2020)

A message from Dean Larry Dennis
The College of Communication and Information is greatly appreciative of the leadership of Florida State University President John Thrasher in condemning abuse of police power and demanding accountability in its wake, and CCI commits to working with him to do everything necessary to help resolve the systemic racial violence in our society. Communication, information, and the technology used to support them are key components of societal change and the faculty, staff, administrators, students, and alumni of the College work every day to keep those components strong in support of ending prejudice and promoting social justice for all.
We at CCI join the State University System's call for each of us to examine the inequities in our society and to recognize the conditions that have created those inequities. We are committed to addressing ongoing civil justice problems and committed to achieving equity and inclusion in our diverse society.
