Leadership Rooted in Industry Excellence

CCI-DMS is led by Director Jim Garbarino, a veteran broadcast professional with more than 27 years of experience in the industry. A longtime director at Seminole Productions, Garbarino was recruited by the Dean of the College of Communication and Information to join the FSU faculty and bring his extensive professional expertise to FSU’s Digital Media Program.

Over the course of his career, he has produced more than 600 television programs for FOX Sports and has freelanced for major national outlets including ABC, CBS, ESPN, and PBS. His work has earned over 70 national and international awards recognizing excellence in producing, editing, graphics, and broadcast storytelling.

Under his leadership, students gain direct exposure to industry standards and professional expectations—ensuring they graduate not only prepared, but competitive.
