DEAN'S STATEMENT
The FSU College of Communication & Information (CCI) Faculty of the Future initiative is a college-wide strategic effort to support and empower our faculty as they prepare students for successful careers and connections through engaged education and research experiences.
As our world changes, our faculty are adapting to it. As a College, we are recognizing the evolution of our faculty’s approaches to teaching, learning and research. Our goal is to support faculty as they build deeper connections with undergraduate and graduate students; work alongside and mentor students as they tackle real-world challenges; and create partnerships with employers and the community.
At CCI, our faculty are dedicated to teaching the core principles of communication, information, and communication science and disorders. We believe in the importance of an education that builds skills for modern applications. By supporting our faculty, we are working to bring research and professional experiences to all of our students.
The problems our communities face are complex. Today’s graduates need the dexterity and competence to address a range of new and complex issues. By creating educational experiences that extend beyond the classroom, our students are engaged in research projects, professional experiences, and interactive coursework, and learn skills and strategies applicable to real life.
We are passionate about the education we provide and the impact of our teaching and research. We’re dedicated to providing Florida State University students with the environment and opportunities they need to launch successful careers, connect with their community, and facing tomorrow’s challenges.
